Valerie’s Parenting Philosophy

After working as a Psychologist and Cognitive Behavioral Therapist for both children and adults, Valerie decided she wanted to specialize in an area that she is most passionate about: Parenting. Her aim is to catalyze a transformational process in families so that children develop to reach their highest potential, and that parents can experience the enjoyment of parenting.

REFLECT + RESPECT = RECONNECT

Valerie’s coaching perspective is to make you aware of what your dreams are, and to empower you in how you can achieve these. By Reflecting on your current parenting role and your dreams of what you would like family life to be like, in combination with mutual Respect and understanding between family members, Valerie believes every parent can reach stronger Reconnection in all spheres of family life.

Valerie is a PCI Certified Parent Coach and Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator. She is mother of three children and has a broad cultural background, having lived in The Netherlands, Sweden and the USA.

International PCI Parent Coach, psychologist and mom, Valerie Ritchie, shares how she adjusted her and her children's routine during the Corona virus quarantine for more gains for everyone. She points out "having more time than ever with our children" means thinking in new ways for them and for us parents, too. She ends by asking an important question that can help us re-align with what means most.

Valerie is excellent. She manages the rare balance of being totally non-judgmental while offering sound advice, and seems to do so effortlessly! I felt totally comfortable sharing my parenting lapses and asking her advice on my sometimes bizarre ideas (can I pay my kid to get off his phone?). She has a strong base of theory and practice that she uses to help you come up with concrete ideas that will work for you. This is such a good investment. I feel like all of us can always use a little more support parenting!
— Evie, mother of two teenagers (France)
I always looked forward to my weekly sessions with Valerie.  She guided our discussions in a gentle yet firm manner, helping me to stay focused on my issue and gain the clarity I was looking for.  Valerie was always sensitive to my particular need of the week and yet also managed to keep me on track in terms of the larger picture.  As a parent coach professional with a kind and understanding core, I recommend Valerie wholeheartedly.
— Kendra, mother of 3, Singapore
We are very thankful to Valerie for supporting our family through a difficult time. With calm and warm guidance, she led us to new insights and realizations that truly helped shift our perspective.
In just a couple of sessions, she made us feel empowered and more confident in our actions. I really liked that she invited us to focus on connection, so that everybody’s needs could be met. She helped us reflect on our reactions and explained the science behind our behavior - and that of our child - which was incredibly helpful in gaining control of them.
— Linda O, mother of a 4 year old
